HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

thad has reconfigured the website to jive with some new techno gadgetry, here’s what he had to say about it: ” we’ve implemented an algorithm that utilizes a model of the lead screw, and estimates heating of the screw based on the distance traveled and the torque applied to the motor. Heat is represented by a thermal coefficient of expansion, and the axis distance is multiplied by the coefficient to get the amount of correction needed…” at that point he lost me but it sure sounds similar to something i read on the HAAS CNC site. i had been there checking the specs on a new piece of equipment we’re purchasing. “fredonia” dave was in town to provide a wiring solution for this new machine although he had to take a break from the nightly N.A.B. meetings to be here.
hope everyone has a wonderful halloween!
