this hydraulic tank was too large for the steady rest on our lathe, so we mounted it in the mill to bore the ends.


the 2×2 was bored to create “soft jaws” then we held the o.d. while the i.d. was bored.

Thats one of the craziest setups I’ve seen in a while. I’m surprised it held up! It almost looks like an extra large set of toolmakers parallel clamps.

it actually worked out fine, for one part… toolmakers clamp with softjaws!
