so the quest for kick ass coffee never ends. aaron over at solid bikes
hooked us up with a pound of Sacramento’s finest beans from the peeps over at coffee works, we’ve got the dark star version that is quality all the way… i’ve already had a cup or 3 this morning and i feel great!
i’m working on a top 5 coffee roasters/shops in the u.s. for now here they are (and this isn’t necessarily ranked), broadway roasting co., the filling station (both kansas city), gimme coffee (ithaca), stumptown (portland) and now coffee works (sacramento). i’m not even sure i know what makes coffee good but these places do what i like…
and you definitely need something to enjoy your coffee out of so my mom hooked me up with a sweet travel mug from kari casey in columbus, kansas. she makes custom shirts and travel mugs and some other cool things with some wild technology that prints directly on the t-shirt. i think anyway…
funny thing about columbus is that we used to drive there from joplin and i remember it seemed like a 3 hour ordeal but maybe it was only an hour? either way, we go there to ride this vert ramp in a kids yard. i don’t even think the kid rode or skated or anything but he had this ramp for some reason and we would go there ride it and bounce on his trampoline. then go home. it was epic at the time…
kazu sent me a sweet photo of his friend riding a pwmoto over in japan.
i can’t seem to recall his name, but we did engrave a sweet logo that corporate kev made for us onto the headtubes of the last batch of the pwmoto frames.
and kyle and i got the frames last week, the guys at FBM
are great! and the quality of the bikes that come out of there are top notch. thanks fellas!
last weekend was the jomopro comp, which myself and fredonia dave along with andy and vic murphy! judged… (i poached this pic from bmxonline.com)
quite an event to say the least. and it was my final stand as a person in their 20′s. tomorrow is 4/20 which is my birthday and the big 30… i hung with the kids best as i could. now it’s time to hang it up. ha! i’m just getting started. happy birthday to aaron huff and craig lang with whom i share the 4/20 birthday!
and here are a few random pics. a little thing i made:
nemesis stem all bolted up:
and a shot of a portion of the tree sprockets we recently shipped…
