i’m a little slow on the uptake but better late than never seems to be my motto. i found this blog entry over on SPRFLS
i rather enjoy this blog and check in to see what kind of saltiness in regards to modern bmx can be had on a given day. and when i noticed our pedal pin weight analysis under the heading “this weeks sign of the apocalypse” i was curious. actually, i was quite flattered! he had some nice things to say about the shop and the pedals which i appreciate. he seemed concerned about the plastic screws that come with the pedals though. i must admit, the noting of a weight difference between plastic and steel was in jest, although we did use the scale to count the screws and separate them into little bags. much less time involved than counting 20 (a few extra of each) individual screws over and over again. we send a baggie of plastic screws, philips head screws and allen head screws with each pair of pedals. so there is a choice to be had and if a person is interested, they can conduct there own testing to determine which ones they like.
it brings up an interesting distinction i suppose about the products that we are making. which at this point is limited to pedals. we are the designer/manufacturer/and seller of the products. they are done in small batches, which allows us the luxury of trying different things-materials/processes and whatnot. which can lead to interesting applications of non-typical items, though it’s true, not all new ideas are good. some are down right wacky, the fun lies in finding the ones that have merit.
speaking of merit, i introduce the micro-bulletin board. the cork end caps can aid in setting up your mobile office! find yourself a hotspot and you’re set!
